I used the PA0RDT mini whip active antenna directly connected to the sound
card line input.
No Alpha stations were present this morning... is this normal?
Yes it happens occasionally. I only noticed one of the 5 (or 6 ?) ALPHA frequencies active half an hour before SAQ started.
On another group, someone explained the ALPHA off-times by the Russian Army not having payed their electricity bill - but more likely, some operators there want to listen to morse transmissions in a sentimental mood ;-)
