Greetings:
MP ( 137776.8 ) spent the last few days re-building loop tuning
unit - after demise of one of the tuning capacitors.
Capacitor removed from old TU  ( BC375 ) tuning units - 0.01 uF
Sangamo 5000 Test Volt - still working to a degree - but
antenna current dropping slowly over a month period from 6
Amps to 3 amps.  Inspected capacitor and found unknown substance
oozing from sides and the colour of the capacitor changed from
light brown to deep black.

The other indication was the change in the DC current at the transmitter -
key down at beginning of QRSS30 was approx 4 amps slowly increasing
to 9 amps over the 90 second key down period.

I have replaces all the capacitors, retuned, and all appears well - with
instant DC transmitter current - and a full 7 AMP of RF current at the
loop.

Observing the signal at W3EEE ( thanks Steve ) at mid-day.... and
have gained mucho dB at his receiving site.

Frequency appears to be 137776.8

Temp -5C,  snow approx  45cm ( 18" ) on ground.
