Hi Mal,
I've been using a FET amplifier for the past year with no problems, and
I've been running QRSS 60 and QRSS 30 most of the time.
I do use a loop antenna, which presents a pretty constant impedance regardless
of the weather.
I have many valve radios including high power amplifiers, transmitters and receivers (mostly on hf).
I enjoy the warm glow of a valve set, but I also appreciate the efficiency of FETs particularly when running in continuous beacon mode.
