Marcus and LF group
Please let us (on this side of the pond)
know when you'll be running in beacon mode. Our attention here is often
divided between the various stateside beacons, Laurence of Alaska, and EU. If we
know you're transmitting, you're apt to have more stations
looking.
Mal...if you would fire up your LF
transmitter and show us your bodacious signal you might get
a few takers on the cross band qso.

Subject: LF: TA beaconing
Dear Mal and LF group,
good, I promise I
will be among the first to congratulate when you have crossed the pond in
"honest CW". But my views on QRSS transatlantic beaconing are quite
different.
The extra hop we need from central Europe makes it much more
difficult to get across, and of course most of us LFers don't own large rusty
antenna arrays or live near near the seashore. Many countries have not been
seen stateside once ever. Personally, I still find it very rewarding to even
see only a couple of bright noise pixels on the right frequency in one of the
screenshots, or to receive Joe's signal once in a couple of weeks.
What
worries me a little right now is the increasing Eu transmitting activity in
the 137775 region. Even at QRSS30, the key clicks of a local station can
easily clutter up a few Hz and cover potential DX signals. I would much prefer
sticking to the proven scheme of us transmitting around 135922, and watching
for stateside/ZL signals at the top end of the band.
Last night, VO1NA
was visible four times between 2 and 5 UT. I transmitted 135922.3/.4 DFCW for
a couple of hours before local sunrise (~7 UT), and if all goes well I'll try
again tonight.
73 and best wishes to everyone, Markus,

Hi Dexter
I can send you plenty of LF RF as you already
know from previous observations your end. What I want in return is a
proper QSO on normal CW. I will TX on 136 and you TX on say 7025 khz. If
any others are interested so much the better. I do not want to send out
repeative and meaningless Beacon signals, I and others already know we
can get across the Atlantic and vice versa from VE to Europe. I have
an array of LF antennas just rusting away.
