To All from PA0SE,

Hi Dick
So far I never had a rope or insulation failure. No ignition or sparks or any wire burn out.
I use marine grade rope available from any marine or yacht supplier. The rope comes in various sizes and the most useful for me is 2mm up to 15mm. The heavier rope is used for guying towers and the other sizes for suspending antenna wires from the tower via insulators. The insulators used are called crab pot spinners, white in colour and made from polyurethane type material. These insulators are about 100 cms long and 40 cms wide. Pulleys that I use are stainless steel with poly runners. This combination guarantees trouble free antennas. Looking up the only sparks that you are likely to see are from the moon and stars, and the odd aurora !!!!!!!!!
The wx seems to have little effect on the above material, they are manufactured for use in a hostile environment.
73 de Mal/G3KEV and Merry Xmas and HNY to all
