Time for an electric fence up there Laurence. The biggest critter down here
that plays with my feedlines and antennas is a squirrel.

The new aerial height is producing may more weak Loran lines (!) - Ive put
up a another Argo screen on the web site for 137. 710 for the test this
weekend and continue to visualize DCF39 and 137.7725-137.775 ish -
Ive concluded for here that the 870 is producing slightly better results in
this location than my 850's. - note Im qualifying this. The sensitivity
differences pronounced in specs between the units aren't really
applicable/meaningful here on 137Khz given the noise level, but the 870
Noise blanking really does eliminate lines both aurally and visually. Given
that on 137Khz Loran spillover peaks S9+ in 100Hz b/w Ive found, like
others, I run with better results without AGC, the 870 delving into the
noise "better"...... and I dont hear the clatter of Loran either! Is
"better" an allowed technical term? A moose got the better of my KLM LPA 8
cm diam boom which was sitting at the 8ft level - He decided to have a
pushing match, won, snapped it in two and then trampled on
it......obviously not a KLM fan. Have a great weekend Laurence KL1X
