Hi all, a quick look at Steve's site suggests that the DCF39 level is still
climbing and didn't peak last night until about 0100z It is about 10dB below
that level at the moment. Of course John and Dex and anyone else listening
(watching !!) will not see the same fading pattern as Steve registers. It
will be very dependent on the actual path length and position. It is also
possible that UK stations will peak before DCF39 being nearly 1000km nearer
to N.A.. The climb shown on Steve's site is slower tonight and there are no
big troughs. This might mean that the peaks will not be quite as high as
last night, but the conditions will last longer. Solar conditions are still
quiet and have been for some time now. This might be described as
"undisturbed conditions", and as such may not be as good as the dying stages
of a "disturbance event" The last really good days were the 5/6th of Jan.
which were probably about 6dB higher than last night. However Steve's system
"topped out" on the 5th limiting the graph peak. Even last nights levels are
some 12 dB above the average since 29th Dec.
Good Luck all
Cheers de Alan G3NYK
