Does anyone have actualy measured the inductance of a big square loop ? I would be interested to check the measured values against the calculated
ones.

At my std 50ft x 50ft location, a  #12 (2mm) conductor measured ~109uh. Your
L=.2W((ln(W/d)+5.5) formula yields 106uh. I suspect the loop may have been a
bit longer than 200ft, so the formula could have been right on the money.

My new 0.63"d pipe loop at this same location measures 90uh and calculates
to be ~82uh using this formula. The reason for most of the discrepancy must
be that the formula is for solid or stranded conductors - but sill not that
far off.
