Note the change of thread name.....
1. I would personally be very happy if the attachment size limit was reduced
even
more. Most of the recent .gif attachments have no interest for me, and with the
current wave of viruses any attachment must be considered suspicious. Note
also that
sending large attachments via email is very inefficient, as the mime encoding
increases the size by up to 50%. Putting these on a website where those
interested
can access it is by far the better way.
2. Only OE and Outlook appear to highlight hyperlinks and email addresses
properly.
Other clients either need the http:// bit or only highlight web addresses (not
email
addresses). Non MS users must be prepared to do a copy/paste (no great
hardship).
Having in the past couple of weeks sampled both Eudora and Opera mail clients I
have
come back to OE - it has the great advantage that you can view the original
message
source before opening the mail, something nobody else seems to do. OE is fine
for
those who know how to use and configure it, dangerous for Jo Public who doesn't.
3. We received an item of junk mail through the reflector the other day -
something
about mortages I recall. It seems this reflector is configured so that anyone
can
post, you only have to subscribe in order to receive mails. Perhaps this ought
to be
changed.
