What radio amateur is going to go to all this trouble for an occasionl QSO. Probably not many. But in order to gain hands-on experience in aspects of the radio art? Perhaps quite a few! That is one of the well-established purposes of the Amateur Radio Service. At present there are only 7 active radio amateurs on 136 khz. Get real, learn the morse code, operating procedures, get the best antenna installed on your property that you can manage and that is all you need. Could having only "all you need" possibly be the reason for not hearing more than 7 hams? Just curious... :-) |
