I feel cheated - everyone else seems to have 1 Hz steps

The TS-850 readout resolution is 10Hz. However the tuning appears 'smooth' between the digits. When I set the receiver for slow CW the receiver is set to 00137.00 upper sideband so that the Spectran frequency display reading is meaningful. From experience I have found that the receiver setting should just be at the point where 00136.99 changes over to 00137.00.
1Hz resolution would be nice.

By IF passband tuning, do you mean the use of the 1kHz and 300 Hz filters on
SSB ?

On the '850 there is a control called SLOPE TUNE which controls the passband of the IF using two controls - very useful.
