Hi All,Very interesting discussion re coil Q - not certain of the true reason for the effect, but note that the quest for higher Q was because the original coil was warming up. Would not increasing the Q lead to higher circulating currents at resonance, thus greater heating? Unless of course the effective x-sectional area of the conductor was increased in square-law relationship to the increase in current! I go by the rule "use the biggest wire possible whatever"!Regards Paul G4MD |
