Spent some time working on my new mast which should be up in a week or two. Listened on 136kHz when I could. Very strong signal from the US RTTY signal so it looks like the DX season has started, despite some bad QRN caused by the record high temperatures. There appear to have been 10 countries active this weekend (DL, EI, G, GW, HB, ON, OZ, OE, OK, PA), though I heard only 7.

Friday 10 Sep
Heard G3XTZ (5 9+20 9); G0MIN (5 9+10 9).

Saturday 11 Sep

Heard the USA RTTY signal on 137.0 at 0450UTC 10dB over 9. Was 589 by 0600 and S3 by 0644. Must start monitoring this with the ON software.

Heard GW4ALG (599); G3YXM (599) working DK8KW (539) on PSK31; G8RW (599); ON4ZK (539).

Worked G3XTZ (59+9/599)

Sunday 12 Sep

Heard US RTTY 529 at 0740.

Heard G3YXM (5 9+10 9); OZ5N (559); DJ5DI (429); OZ1KMR (569) working OK1FIG (see my earlier message); G3KEV (599); PA0SE (579); GW4ALG (599); G3BDQ (599); G4GVC (599); EI0CF (569).

Saw on Spectrogram screen DK8KW (a good 'O') working DK1IS who was invisible.

Mike
