Hello Group,

pa0awn 200399 1620 539-449 269km
All in "normal" CW.
One new country this weekend. The Netherlands, No.9 on my
list.
Sunday evening I observed EI0CF. Since SYLT and North
Ireland are bearing at the same direction Finbar was
absolutely unreadable on my loop. So I had to use the
Marconi with S9 of painful rattling LORAN splatter.
Around 2130z Finbar was rst549, dropped to rst439 from 2200z
to 2220z and after 2230z his signal got stronger and
stronger reaching rst589 around 2300z. Slight QSB drops
correlated with the very strong Luxembourg Effect bursts.
Sometimes Finbars signal was able to move the needle
overcoming the S9 LORAN-C splatter from SYLT, reaching
colour "red" on SPECGRAM-2 display. Strongest signal from
others was G3KEV. From DL I could hear Peter's, DJ8WL,
normal CW call without any problems.
Strange conditions: OH1TN, one of the strongest signals here
at North Germany, was calling CQ 500 Hz below Finbar
reaching only rst429.
