Thank you Jim and David These noisy beacon things just pop up all over the place now on VHF and probably HF too if I listened. I am hoping it is just an artifact of the receiver and not actually on 7

Yes There are a couple of 4 mtr gateways in Merseyside, 70.260 MHz is listed AM/FM calling frequency ? other frequency's are listed as internet gateways .. can you see the call listed on echo link ?

Wow thank you all, I knew you wouldn't let me down. Garry, Graham and John thanks John initially I had it as /P but it repeats every 10 / 15 mins and I verified it as /L so Garry's comment makes sens
