Why are the majority of 500 Kcs ops quoting so many watts RF. This is confusing, is this pwr DC input, RF to the antenna or what? I thought it was agreed to quote ERP, to quote otherwise is meaningle

Dick, PA0SE, and others have recently been using a multiplication factor of 1.83dB to obtain ERP. This is the supposed gain of a vertical antenna over a dipole because of ground reflection. Is this r

Is this really vaild? Ground reflection surely must depend upon: (1) The efficiency of the local ground connection and (2) The conductivity of the ground both of which must have a much greater effec

One more thing to mention : when you MEASURE your by the way Dick suggests you don't have to take in account any multiplication factor if you have a short vertical antenna. When you measure at 2 .. 3

Dear Stewart, LF Group, smaller antenna had a higher field strength than you expected. Yes it did, but only by about 1.5dB as I recall - this would be within the limits of experimental error. The thi
