Hello Laurie, I will have a look for your signal. Sorry for the bounced email. My system is doing odd things just now. Conditions could be good. I am pretty sure I copied XKO tonight. Mike ZL4OL

Hello, does anyone know of a QRSS signal on about 137.7777kHz? I was watching a likely signal build up but it disappeared at 0837. Mike ZL4OL

Markus, around the clock - is somebody in ZL watching, for a slim chance to catch that ultimate antipodal dash? Yes, we have been monitoring most nights but nothing seen yet. Mike ZL4OL

Just for interest, the horses don't gallop down this way. They just make a loud clattering noise which is only heard at night on 100kHz and a few kHz either side. Mike ZL4OL

During the recent ZM2E testing I had a listen around after ZL sunrise. DCF39 was strong audible copy as was a broadcast station on 153 kHz. I was surprised though to also hear a strong signal on 77.5

Thanks Peter. Yes, that is what it looks like, The outer pair are the weakest by 10dB or a bit more. I guess I should try to demodulate it. Mike ZL4OL

Hi Peter, What's the betting that if you try to demodulate it, it will switch back to random data just as you get things set up? I should have taken the bet. The signal is fairly noisy at the moment

I have not listened for the Californian Naval rtty station on 135.95 for a while. I note tonight that they seem to be using a new mode which appears as five carriers at 25Hz spacing centred on 135.95

Scott, we tried a miniwhip at Quartz Hill last trip at about the same height as you have yours and it seemed to work well. JJY on 40kHz was strong and DCF77 was audible. Coupling capacitors the right
