Saturday 25 September
Got up early but QRM from next door on until 0700. Very low activity -
worked all I heard - and had to go to work at 0930. QRN too bad later.
Had a QRSs contact with DK8KW ('O'/'O')
Worked PA0SE (gave 579, got 579 - best yet) and G4GVC (599 / 58/99).
Sunday 26 September
Noise on again early but managed couple of hours of operating after it
stopped.
Heard G3BDQ (599); PA0SE (579); ON7YD (559); G3KEV (599); G3YXM (5 9+10
9).
Heard new one: G0VXG (339)working G3YXM but he didn't reply to my call.
On the 12th, I claimed a possible first when I believed I saw OK1FIG's
normal speed CW on Spectrogram set to narrow (ie could see the signal
was there but couldn't read it). Today I did the same and this was
definitely Petr's signal - see picture on my web site - though still no
callsign read. It will be easy to receive him on QRSs.
Finally completed a normal CW QSO with HB9ASB (339/339), having
previously had a 100% QRSs contact and an uncomplete CW one.
Also worked G4GVC (599 / 58/99); G6RO (549 / 57/89) and MM0ALM (549/549)
New antenna has definitely made at least one s-point improvement. The
difference has been to increase the effective height by (1) reducing the
sag by improving the end supports and (2) changing from one to three top
wires spaced about 0.8m apart. ERP is now approximately 150mW from my
200W Tx. A sketch of the antenna can be found on my web site.
