Hi Stefan, VLF,

I'm finding Paul's grabber far more entertaining than the television!
It seems the E feedback to SL is working, the notebook is synchronised
properly and the aerial work was not in vain. Hope your tree gets QRV again soon to confirm the short trace you saw. Is the phase now referenced by Spec Lab to utc? For example E=sin(omega t) where t is seconds since 00 ut?

Excellent on 17 kHz! Having a 2xCW VLF QSO with SAQ has been a dream of
mine for a long time, but for you it could very well become a reality! GL.

After looking quickly at the .ini file you sent, I have a silly question:
is the psk.txt in scheduled actions the one generated by ebnaut.c?

Hello Joe,

your signal has been clearly stronger last night on Pauls grabber. On my 47 uHz spectrogram there is a short trace on the right frequency. Could this be yours? Unfortunately the tree will shut down soon, so i can't monitor you the next night.
But that peak makes hope!

That's better! Thanks Stefan!

Hello Joe,

It looks like the NMEA level is to low. Did you select PPS+NMEA at all? Or is it still set to PPS without NMEA? You know what i mean?

Hi Markus,

I've scrolled through Paul's spectrograms many times. Quite amazing
reception isn't it?

Sorry I don't have much more info on the TX. It has been on with little
down time for the past month except yesterday when the elect. co. cut the
mains in the morning. SL was restarted last night.

Today I used Paul's UBX library to reduce the neo7 pps from 100 to 10 ms
so SL can use the NMEA but sadly this no longer works and so the notepad
can't be synchronised; it will not connect to the inet.

It seems EbNaut must be continue to be keyed by the Raspi and SL phase stabilisated EbNaut will have to wait till the NMEA can be invoked.

I'll put the feedback E antenna back on now and keep the carrier going
for a few days.

Here's an SL pic if you and Stefan would like to diagnose the
NMEA ailment: http://www.ucs.mun.ca/~jcraig/vlfsl251117.jpg

Hi Joe,

browsing back through Paul's spectrograms, traces on 8270.0075 Hz have been visible in Todmorden more or less every morning between Nov 13 and 24, with most steady SNR on Nov 19, and none on Nov 21.

Since Nov 11th, 21 uHz data from the DL0AO cardioid have been recorded without interruption. In an attempt to bring out your carrier, I have tried to stack several mornings in different combinations, both coherently and incoherently. But results have been inconclusive and don't seem to match Paul's receptions. So far, only a small peak appeared after adding 11th and 12th with opposite phase, which does not seem right.

Now it might help to have a small list of all your recent transmissions, telling us during which nights the carrier has been on air, and whether E-field pickup was used to stabilize the phase, or else when the absolute phase might have changed due to modifications of the antenna tuning circuit.

Markus (DF6NM)

This is remarkable. Is this your first TA reception below 9 kHz on a
spectrogram? The 0600ut enhancments are interesting too.

I've only managed to detect the sigs at 7 km and perhaps at 20 km (on
Signal Hill) using an E-probe and a notepad. 3500km is astounding
and a sure sign that work is needed on my RX methods.

The carrier will continue tonight with EbNaut to follow tomorrow evening.

and more if you scroll back a day at a time. Note how quite
frequently the signals comes up very strong at about 06:00
for half hour or so.

If you scroll back to the 10th there's Stefan on 8270.005
but no more sign of your signal. For some reason it's
started showing up in the spectrogram since about the 13th.
