Thanks, G..

I have changed my tune. It seems one gets more attention when singing in key! Thanks to GW0EZY for the report and the other OP32 grabbers and to
you G. for your help and the new OP bands. Is 478.477 a good choice
for OP8?

Hi Markus and Graham,

Thanks for the info on op. I'll look for a lower QRG in
the passband for 2200m OP32. Hopefully 478.65 is still OK for OP8.

It is planned to add 630m to the 2200m exciter by replacing the
CMOS 4020 (divide by 16) with a faster 74LS161. The DDS output is
set at 16f and then divided to improve the resolution and square the output, but 16x479 kHz is too fast for the 4020.

Thank-you to IZ7SLZ and SV8RV for their reception reports.

Hi Joe ,

Quite possibly ,

One of the unintended consequences of NED !

[ Never Ending Development]

The last major upgrade to Opera , saw the removal of dual speeds for each band and the audio being centred on 1500 Hz

That put the mid band Rf-QRG at 137.500 with decoder pass band +/- say 45 Hz

However , decode threshold and false decodes are improved , with some decodes showing with fade losses of 60%

477K is now set at OP8 478.500 KHz

Thanks Dionysios and Terry GW0EZY for the reports of the OP transmissions.
Thanks also to DF6NM for his grabber and accurate freq measurements.
It seems many OP stations have migrated down about 50 Hz. Did I miss
something?

The TX was running 240 watts 2.2 amps to the 100 m wire. Will be QRV
& QRO again tonight.
