From : Laurence KL1X, BP 41 XD, 10 Kms W Anchorage.(was AL1V till

Using a number of sources including the German data txm on 138.8XKhz,
conditions to EU long haul continue to be depressed and estimated max 40+
dB down on signals at the same time of day, pre the recent disturbance of
elevated K/Au etc. The data signal at times peaked S9+25 on a quiet
background, save Loran spurs; its averaging S5 at the moment.
Even with the present poor conditions I can still hear some Eu LF broadcast
stations +24 hours including the very strong Norwegian signal on 153Khz
All paths to Europe (and Africa)from here run into/across/within the
Auroral Oval, both sides, and dependant on them nasty Protons and other
factors, LF signals are depressed as much as HF is. Its going to be a
challenge!
The receiver sits most of the time centered on 137.770 plus or minus 1.5Hz
using QRSS60. Im capturing most of the day and night.

Laurence (Flo)
