Hi to Jim (M0BMU) & all at LF,

I had my first LF QSO last night (sunday 14th) after Jim (M0BMU) called me
when I was doing some final testing using the G0MRF 300 watt Tx on its
highest setting, this produced a DC input of 315 watts. Jim gave me a good
report & suggested we go to normal CW (this I will have to work on, not used
normal CW for 15 years or so)as both of us were S6. I replied to Jim
provisionally agreeing but half way thro' the over I heard/saw a strong
signal during my QSK word breaks, it was Jim already sending a reply to the
over I had not finnished sending, looking at my Tx meters I saw my PA
current down to 5 amps & the SWR up to 2 : 1, this is not good I thought so
I terminated the transmission.

At breakfast time this morning I looked down the garden & saw half the top
loading wires on the antenna were hanging down the side of my metal
telescopic mast, a support line had broken. I will endevour to carry out a
repair today (monday 15th if my work schedule allows)& be back on again
soon.

Jims call to me & the report he gave me has given me much encouragement,
thanks Jim.

I will brush up on my normal CW & maybe I can help introduce a greater level
of normal CW as I would like to re-gain this skill again. Perhaps a few slow
hand sent QSO's will bring it back again.

Also I would again like to thank all of you who have advised & helped with
my technical problems.
