Thanks Alan and Ian but my 2 hours to "play" has now run out after failing
to get the aerial resonant and matched into the coax run to the house. I
can get the former, but not the latter which seems to remove the resonance
and thus the current in the aerial. Just the odd 2 or 3 hours per month
isn't enough to crack the problem!

Hi John,

shame on me, I forgot that this is clear day, and hadn't checked
the mailbox
since yesterday afternoon!
I am going out RAYNET-ing this afternoon from about 1500z but will be
looking on 71.95 at qrss3 from now (1110z)until then. As I type this there
is a fairly strong carrier on 71.987 plus or minus error and the usual
wiggly lines.
Unfortunately the system is not at full noise at the moment
because the coil
is back in the shack again while a new home is built, with a temporary
feeder so there is only about 1.2A of antenna current.
Not permanently on line but 02892 665034 will get me on tel. if
you want to
make a try.

73,

Ian GI8AYZ/MI0AYZ
