G'day Gary,

Well - it seems it is not specific to your grabber - any http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/username address is not working from here.   The http://www.tiscali.co.uk link is OK.

Maybe the "myweb..." site is blocked by my ISP (or vice-versa) for some reason.

It is obviously a problem for me only so 'nuff said.

Thanks for the info and help.

Hi Steve,

Well, I can't see any reason for the non-connect from my end, I will give you my main web address & you can try from the links page (if you get in that is) :-

Also you could try from the links on the UK500KHZ group home page :-

You are correct regarding the operation of slow rate 24/7 signals, the nearest to that are a few experimental EU stations a around 505.200kHz but usually only using QRS03 or QRS10.

IN VIEW OF THE PROBLEMS STEVE IS HAVING WITH MY GRABBER, WILL OTHERS PLEASE TRY IT & REPORT IF THERE ARE PROBLEMS.

G'day Gary,

Sorry - still can't connect.   Perhaps someone else should try.

Sorry to all for using the 'B' word - I of course meant MEPT....

A bit of research makes me think there are no 24/7 QRSS30 or slower MEPTs operating on 500kc in the UK/EU - or at least none that I can find.

My intent was to leave ARGO going overnight here (local time) each day(sic) for a period of time to see if, by some chance, I could see anything this far away.

Yours grabber is 24/7, but unfortunately for some inexplicable reason I cannot see it currently.     In any case, I would still need a regular MEPT with long carrier bursts, and that appears not to be the case.

Thanks for the help and info.

Hi Steve,

Although I have not been uploading captures today until now (1348utc) there is no problem with my site, it has been displaying a message "Grabber Temporary Off Line" as I do my PC maintenance on a Monday (hard disk backup's etc).

You will find that some (maybe most) of the other grabbers are random but mine is 24/7.

Here is the url again just in case :-

G'day Gary,

There currently seems to be a rend in the time-space continuum here down under in VK-land....

Apart from your site - for which I get a "can't connect".

From the links on the Google site I get the following results.

1. GM4SLV - last grab Jan 2009.
2. CT1DRP - last grab Nov 2008.
3. Hartmut Wolff - last grab Nov 2008.
4. GM4ISM - can't connect.
5. DF6NM - last grab May 2008.
6. RN3AGC - can't connect.

The only one that works is the http://www.wireless.org.uk/grab/ link.

What am I missing ?

G'day All,

In an _expression_ of extreme optimism I am interested in getting details of 500kc beacons (preferably QRSS30 and slower) in Europe.    To get real-time confirmation of on-air status I am also looking for relevant local grabbers for those beacons.
