Hi Stefan:
Nice to see your callsign in the summer! I was using the same old
orthogonal loops configured to favor signals coming in from NE (or
SW). Guess one of these days I should put a relay box out in the
woods with a termination resistor to null the unwanted
direction? Last night the static here grew progressively worse as
the evening wore on, possibly due to QRN from further west once the
darkness set in. You are right about the over-land path... I think
Joe VO1NA must have the optimum Canadian location. Checked the
distance: my QTH is 1850 Km over land from Torbay, NL. I was copying
Joe's signal last night also, but not as cleanly as he appeared on
the European grabbers.

Thanks Jay and Bill for the reports! Always good to manage the
challenge in July :-)
Bill, that's 6074 km and quite in-land, not bad! What is your RX system?

Just a trace here, way too much static last night.

Surprisingly good copy despite high QRN levels ...
