That was done by
measuring the "strength" of the tone when analysing the wav files with Spectrum
Lab. The receiver AGC made the peak noise level the same I could read off
the difference in tone level (in a tiny bandwidth) .
The S meter on the
receiver has gone from about S3 to S7 which would indicate a much worse
degredation but who believes S meters?
I would very much doubt
that there's any effect on LW BC band, that extra 20kHz will make a big
difference.
Dave.
Note to David: I have
put the aerial back up and made the comparison recording and it appears
that the background is about 13dB higher here with Rubgy on. The "S6" CW
signal is now a good deal more difficult to copy! I will send
the recording is you need them.
73 and clackety-clack from Dave
G3YXM.
Thanks Dave.
Only 13dB is quite a surprise. That's about 2 S points up from the
background. Are you measuring in a reasonable bandwidth. 500Hz or above.
Apparently the output at 136kHz is only 48dB down on level at
100kHz.
Is there any sign of interference to 153 or any LF broadcaster?
Thanks
David
