I don't know about the price but I wasn't too impressed with the receiver
when I used Graham's (G3XTZ) on 136 at the HF convention. Sensitivity and
stability aren't a problem (they have a nice TCO oscillator) but the filter
leak-past was very poor. High pitched heterodynes could be heard from well
outside the filter passband when wearing headphones. This alone put me off,
amateur sets costing much less are much better in this aspect. I couldn't
really get used to the variable-rate tuning either.
Check the condition of the keypads and especially the LCD display panels.
These decay and become hard to read, they are becoming difficult to find and
are therefore expensive!

Subject: LF: Racal RA1792

Hello group,

I have been offered a Racal RA1792 Rx, price requested abt. 700 Euro.
I know very little about this receiver, so I am asking your opinions about
it. Also I don't know if what has been asked is a fair price. The radio
seems in good conditions, and from a quick test it seems to be working.
Caveats, suggestions, advices, are all welcome, thanks.
