Hello Tony!
I am using SDR-IQ (RF Space company) for receiving on freq 5-30kHz and I can say, it works very well. I have never tried it on 500Hz, so I can´t  answer your question. But I like this receiver, becouse it is fine on LF and MW. I never use it without selective preamplifier on these bands!
