Yes That is a good idea , very rarely some one listens to MW ,

I have a few from Philips Radios . 10 inches .

But now in the market we get 2inches long which have terrible Q .

We have a MW station which is on 612Khz and puts out a terrible 3rd harmonic on 1836 and covers about 30khz of noise . s9+20 

now they have started to Experiment on DRM on MW ,while no one listens to regular AM . 

This wipes out the band one hour before Sunrise 

,

I found some toroids on Ebay  a material called Rc1  gives a Q of over 1000 on MW 

will make the filters with it
