I am glad to see so many animal lovers among the ranks of M/Lf fans. Like you Markus I lost and dear friend about two years ago, Ginger. He was always there but never ventured into the house, he was a scaredy cat. Only in his last days did he come in. He died of kidney failure in his 20s. If you ever took a picture in the garden and looked at it carefully he was always there trying to be one of the family but never quite allowing it. He always turned up for his meals on the step though and lived in his electrically heated igloo on the step during winter. He was the wall paper for my desktop which always drew the girls in the office when I went on company working visits to Johnsons in Germany. He was an ice breaker and an International Puss. See my attachement ....

Markus,

We have had several cats over the years and have happy memories of them. It can be a great joy when a cat decides to come and live with you, and a great sadness when this comes to an end. We remember in particular one of our cats who used to sit on the top of my wife's CRT-based monitor and try to catch the cursor.

Something happened. Yesterday night, out red cat Gizmo died.

He was 16 years old, and had been living on borrowed time since a large tumor was found in April 2016. Beyond all expectations, we were allowed to share two more beautiful summers with him. During that time, we became even closer than before. Now we miss him very much.

Gizmo had always been very curious about my radio activities. Some LF group members might be aware of his name. So if someone happens to pick up a strange undidentified (V)LF signal of extraterrestrial origin, it may be that his ghost managed to get on air.

Best 73,
Markus (DF6NM)
