Hello LF enthusuasts,

The german "Regulatory Authority for Telecommunications and Posts"
recently published a questionary to evaluate the market's needs
for low frequency allocations.

Details (these are in german - sorry) can be found at the following URL:

http://www.regtp.de/Fachinfo/Langwelle/start.htm
and
http://www.regtp.de/Fachinfo/Langwelle/amtsbl.htm

In essence, a.m. german authority plans to re-use a set of frequencies (allocated to germany on primary or secondary basis according to the IFRB / ITU) in the LF range, which is internationally allocated to the fixed service and navigation service.

The following 11 frequencies are involved:

(1) 46.250 kHz (2) 47.450 kHz (3) 55.250 kHz (4) 69.700 kHz (5) 94.500 kHz (6) 110.550 kHz (7) 117.400 kHz (8) 131.400 kHz (9) 136.800 kHz (10) 146.000 kHz (11) 147.300 kHz

Especially interesting is the list of former usage of those frequencies,
contained in the "amtsbl.htm", which I compile here for better readability:

==List start ==================================================
(1) frequency 46,250 kHz station site Mainflingen bandwidth / modulation 1K20 A7B-- max power into antenna + 37.0 dBW (2) frequency 47,450 kHz station site Mainflingen bandwidth / modulation 400 HA1B-- max power into antenna + 40.0 dBW (3) frequency 55,250 kHz station site Mainflingen bandwidth / modulation 1K20 F1B-- max power into antenna + 40.0 dBW (4) frequency 69,700 kHz station site Konigswusterhausen bandwidth / modulation 2K10 A2B-- max power into antenna + 43.0 dBW (5) frequency 94,500 kHz station site Konigswusterhausen bandwidth / modulation 1K10 F1B-- max power into antenna + 40.0 dBW (6) frequency 110,550 kHz station site Bad Vilbel bandwidth / modulation 1K00 F1B-- max power into antenna + 44.8 dBW (7) frequency 117,400 kHz station site Mainflingen bandwidth / modulation 2K40 F1C max power into antenna + 40.0 dBW (8) frequency 131,400 kHz station site Kiel bandwidth / modulation 600H F1B-- max power into antenna + 30.0 dBW (9) frequency 136,800 kHz station site Pinneberg bandwidth / modulation 500H A1B-- max power into antenna + 31.8 dBW (10) frequency 146,000 kHz station site Konigswusterhausen bandwidth / modulation 1K10 F1B-- max power into antenna + 43.0 dBW (11) frequency 147,300 kHz station site Pinneberg bandwidth / modulation 500H F1B-- max power into antenna + 31.8 dBW ==List stop ==================================================

Isn't frequency (9) right inside the frequency range
allocated to the radio amateur service (on a secondary basis) ???

What does this say to us in lieu of usability of the
LF band in future ???

This information is useful to update frequency lists held by
several OMs, as it constitutes the official and legal limit
of frequency usage of the past.

On the other side it may throw a shadow on possible future
usage as well and give an impress on what we may expect
(more QRM) on the LF range in the future.
