Converted the loop to a top loaded "T' - 72ft vertical and 100 foot top with two cap wires separated by 2m - total R is a disappointing 45 ohms even with extensive earthing but it is in a middle of a Birch forest and I knew what I was letting myself in for -  temps at +50F too
 
Will run overnight but K/Geo is poor and HF has been fairly dismal - Ill do a ground wave check in Anchorage and see how it compares with the 1/4Y loop -
