A very noisy and sleepless QRN filled night here in Oklahoma.
On early morning conditions on MF - WD2XSH/7 Llousiana appeared on the Alaska snapper very early at 0703Z with no spread at dot30 read levels. At 0715Z the signal increased to CW ID levels for just a minute then dropped back some 15dB....signal faded at 0801Z and again appeared at 0901Z.
At 1000Z the signal started showing Doppler or LF spreading up to 2Hz, and Im still seeing this pre dawn now at 1102Z.
So some interesting dynamics going on in the ionosphere between AK and Lousiana obviously -
Im interested in anyone's thoughts about the LF going signal signature of Ralphs signal and any hypothesis on why its going that direction ? The Alaskan ionosphere both to the South and North of the location is pretty "hot" at the moment with Protons and other energetic particles...
