For all those that replied thanks ! It turned out the infinite number of monkeys came up with 19200,8,N,1...doh.

The unit was running fine after I gave it the idea it was in Alaska and not Oklahoma...just took a long time to do a survey but all appears well after 4 or 5 years of now being powered up.

Im now back in Oklahoma...

I having a Blond moment - a few years back I was discussing the RS422 connections to my unit and discussed the fact that the port isnt 19200,Odd, 7,1start,1stop - but I had discovered mine was another config. (and I could talk to it, once I had gone thru the infinite monkey routine)

For the life of me I cant seem to recall my working settings and wonder if anyone else has a unit which doesnt have the standard published set up but has it working on  say 4800....

Any good progs that can discover port configs :-)

Laurence
