Jim, group,
daytime propagation must have been indeed exceptional on friday, also on 500kHz.
I have the RX monitoring 518kHz NAVTEX when I am not active on 500kHz and
checking yesterdays log I noticed a good copy of the 12:10 UTC transmission of
A9M (Bahrein, abt. 4700km).
Strange enough no copy of the 16:10 transmission (I have copied A9M before at
16:10UTC).
4XO (Haifa - Israel, abt 3200km) was copied all day (08:20, 12:20, 16:20, 20:20
UTC), normally I do miss the 08:20 and 12:20 transmission.

Onderwerp: LF: VO1NA in daytime
Dear LF Group,
Being at home at lunch time today, I took a look at 136kHz screen shots from
last night - "NA" and "XES" were visible. But what was suprising was that
VO1NA's beacon was still visible on the SpecLab screen, between about 1010
and 1120 utc - see the attachment. The signal disappears abruptly then, so I
guess that may be due to Joe switching off the TX. Normally I only record
screenshots up to 0900, since signals have usually faded out then, but being
at home early meant the signal was still on the screen. NA was visible
throughout the night and only faded out briefly around 1000 before returning
for another hour.
Cheers, Jim Moritz
