Up till around 15 March or so DCF39 was just about visible to some extent +24 hours in Anchorage over a +-7300Kms path, give or take the occasional blast from the sun, but daylight is rapidly increasing at some 6 mins per day and looking at my records the path openings are getting much shorter now. It wont be long before the the onlly time I see DCF39 is when the sun throws a large daylight X ray event at gives me that extra few dBs to make it visiible.... (this is being written in a historical sense as Im being dumped/fried upon here in Oklahoma and not freezing my buttress off in Anchorage)

Ill take a look for DCF here tonite here in /5 land as we have the station up and running on Rx to some extent.

Laurence KL1X/5 EM26AQ now some 7800Kms away....

Hi David, Whoops I slipped 10dB !! Thanks Rik. That path does sound
possible. there will be a lot of loss in the daylight parts.....which is
good news for the time of the year there might be a full darkness path. It
will be really interesting if you can detect the signal at slower speeds. I
think Laurence was able to get a good trace at 3 sec mode at 6000kms over
the pole, on good days. Steve Dove W3EEE has not had very good signals for
the last two nights, so conditions are too good at present.
