Hi Wolf, Congratulations on the recognition. I am begining to have some
confidence the search will be ultimately successful :-))
Best Wishes

Hello Mike,
Thanks for the info. Indeed I am in contact with two members (actually from
the US) who are recently 'guests' on board of the Ocean Shield.
Guess what... there was a bug in the NMEA decoder in old versions of SL
which caused problems when entering the southern hemisphere ! Not a
mission-critical problem though, it could have been fixed by post-processing
the recorded files (wave file + aux files which contain the ship's position
along with the recorded "audio" / spectra). But their satellite link was
stable enough to download and install a fixed version :-)

Wolf DL4YHF .

I have been amazed at the low tech methods apparently being used in
the hunt for the 'pings' from the black box of the missing Malaysian
plane.
But today the BBC lunchtime news showed the Ocean Shield search ship
using DL4YHF's Spectrum Laboratory, presumably with a 96kHz soundcard
as its input - exactly the kit used for the recent amateur radio
transatlantic tests on 29kHz.
Well done, Wolf. Your excellent software may help solve this mystery.
