Ok Stefan,
Gary might have the details for 136 , from
what I can remember , there where
decodes across the Atlantic to and
from Joe , those screen captures are on the
yahoo group, at that time , the
decodes are showing round 10 dB over
the minimum level
OP8 was used , that would indicate , Gary could of
reduced to 30/40 watts , with a change to
OP32 6 dB lower , then 10 watts OP64 , would
of been 5 watts .......however path qsb may
of prevented this , will probably find out in
the autumn !
Decodes , mid to far side of Russia have been made
using OP32 , using not very much power
The Op system was only introduced at
the start of the year so the LF window
was closing as development continued ,
WE6XGR Bob in NewYork managed to
decode west coast USA and west coast
EU at the same time on 500K , using OP2 (4
?)
May be with the data from dfc-39
some idea of path attenuation ,
window size . your ERP , a guess could
be made to predict the s/n at VK

Subject: LF: Opera best DX?
Graham, LF,
I think you're following the Opera activity
since its existance. What was the best distance ever in Opera(32) on LF? Who was
it (RX and TX) and what was the time of the year?
You're right, ''Its not if you win the race ,
its how you play the game'' , but for VK tests we
have only a few weeks in the year and in these few weeks only a few days and in
these days only a few minutes.
VK2DDI wants to get a complete call this
autumn so this is a challenge.
Anyway worth to play the game as you say.
Maybe some newcomers will find the way to LF by seeing activity on pskreporter
on that band. The newcomers are the future!
