Here I'm very much enjoying my simple QRP experiments sub-9kHz. I've a set of goals: 0.5km (achieved this week), 1km (hopefully within the next 2-3 weeks with QRSS), then 3km to G6ALB (in the next village). If I achieve these goals I shall be very pleased and will no doubt have learned a few things in the process. 

I see adverts for HF rigs, beams and linears costing thousands of pounds and reflect that my entire VLF system cost about £15, maybe £30 if I build a bigger PA.  Playing with VLF suits me just fine and it an be don

Mind you, listening to a teenagers car just gone past, a few tens-Hz of bass-boom goes a long way.  He won't be hearing 8kHz in a few years time.

I'm amazed at the work put in by the dreamers on this band, but just think
- 4W of 9kHz fed to a decent speaker system - would be audible by the
human ear at 400m, just as accoustic waves... surely??

Keep it up guys, this really /is/ LF if anything ever is. Makes 500kHz
seem light light-waves
