Only to those of a,  errr, well, somewhat younger age.   
800Hz to decent speakers,  and its a different matter....
 
Mind you, listening to a teenagers car just gone past, a few tens-Hz of bass-boom goes a long way.  He won't be hearing 8kHz in a few years time.

I'm amazed at the work put in by the dreamers on this band, but just think
- 4W of 9kHz fed to a decent speaker system - would be audible by the
human ear at 400m, just as accoustic waves... surely??

Keep it up guys, this really /is/ LF if anything ever is. Makes 500kHz
seem light light-waves
