We may be looking at the commercial testing of a replacement for the
navtext 518 system, with a wide band (European) spread spectrum multi psk
system , ( MT63 broadcast type? ) the original single tome carriers
looked to of been bandwidth tests , as to where the tx is located it may
be southern Europe , may even be on board a ship ?
As to how this testing fit's with the allocated 500 band's in
Europe is anyone's guess ..or is this linked to the 'odd' dual 500
allocation, with a gap round 500 posted from the other side of the pond
?

Looks like 'we' are in for a interesting winter window .. !
Its possible that the signal is beamed , so signal levels may
no give a true guide ?
Don't quite know why wspr has started on 501 , we did take some time
to
separate , qrss beacons , cw , data (sorry mal) and wspr at the top
end
in the dead zone close to the 504 splatter , unless its a tribute
to levi ?
Perhaps a quick tune in the Moscow region may give a hint ?

Hi John, Roelof, Graham, and all,
Set up the grabber here so you can see the signal I refer.
Notably it doesn't seem as strong as yesterday and with considerably more
QSB.

Will leave it running for a few hours yet.
As Graham mentioned, it does make monitoring the 501100 WSPR slot rather
patchy.
Maybe I should make a DF loop for such quandries.

Lee M0LMH.
