Hi ColinThanks for the report today. I hope you get a NOV for 500kHz as we could do with more activity. We have a regular net Sunday mornings between 0915 and 1000 plus local time, with G3XIZ (Chris), G3DXZ (Chas), G7NKS (Jim) and occasionally G3KEV (Mal). Also some weekday evenings anytime between 0700 and 0930 now that winter with dark nights is setting in. You mention Detling in QRZ.COM. I was there for a couple of days as a young airman radar op during a very rainy and cold December in 1946. It was HQ of Southern Sigs radar wing, and we were awaiting posting to our first operational station. I ended up at Land's End, though my home was New Eltham. We were dumped in some dispersal huts at a nearby woods and found most had no doors, including the toilet block. At last we found a hut slightly habitable, and searched around for another gash door to use as fuel for the stove, as all the bedding was soaking wet. Fortunately, the next day I was on my way to Cornwall. - Happy memories. 73 Dennis M0JXM----- Original Message ----- From: "Colin G6PBS" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, October 09, 2011 9:01 AM Subject: LF: 500kc alive and well Hi all, First time posting.
