Hi Stefan
Look at the Decca amplifier 5501 cct which uses schmitt-triger  to shape the sine wave input. i have also used other methods in the past to achieve a sq  wave including chips and other transistor and fet circuits.

Hi Mal,

The Schmitt-trigger could deform the duty-cycle of the the signal, which can be very critical for some kind of PAs :-) I often use a simple OP AMP and amplify the signal so that the OP AMP is clipping. Not the perfect way maybe but it worked just last weekend where i drove the H bridge that way from a low audio signal coming from the PC.

Someone was asking about converting sine wave to Sq wave recently from a TS590 to drive an Amplifier
Feed the DRV output sine wave  from the TS590 to a Schmitt triger cct and then use a Direct Amplifier similar to the Decca 5501 class D bridge amp.
I use this method on LF es MF and never had a problem.
