I have used mine mainly as an up to 48Khz signal generator I can use with my notebook. But I have used them on VLF. It is confusing because the bubble pack says mono mic input but they have a stereo jack and do produce both channels.( I think the pack/card is used for a number of slightly different product) The leaflet inside definitely says stereo mic input. Paul uses them where he put GPS 1pps into the other channel for calibration and timing. He really is the guy to ask. I believe the noise floor is not as low as is achieved by some of the expensive Pro USB units but you pay much more for a bigger unit.

Several of us on the VLF group bought early in the year, and there were some problems with Chinese suppliers not providing the advertised unit. However buying from the States prove successful. The unit is very distinctive with a mute button, up-down volume buttons and red and green LEDs. I believe it is capable outputting SPDIF optical with an adapter......but maybe not much use to us :-))

I hope that helps

Hi Alan,

Thanks, that is a good hint, exactly what i want, even more than i need.

Do you use them for amateur radio? Are you happy with them? Any drawbacks?

Hi Stefan you could try looking for SD-AUD20101. Dont buy from China buy from the US on eBay that isa bit more expensive depending on the postage. The descriptions are misleading some say mono mic but on the genuine article it is definitely stereo. These are the units that Paul Nicholson uses they will sampleat 96kb/sec. They are also available via Amazon. The maker is Syba, my last pair came from Novatek Technology Inc in Chino CA ....I think a pair cost about 40euro equivalent including postage.

Subject: LF: USB stereo soundcard, CHEAP!?

Hi all,

On my remote RX i'm using a cheap USB-soundcard (attachment), which runs very well! However it has just a mono-input (Mic).

What i need is such a soundcard with stereo microphone inputs. It has to be such a cheap and compact one, i.e. for example NOT a EMU0202 or similar stuff. 16 bit and 48 kS/s is totally sufficient. It would be nice if the mic-GND is at one potential with the USB-shield, just to avoid problems.

Does someone know one and where to order it?
