To return to this thread, I have realised that tuning the 1103 at LF is much simpler than previously suggested - see http://www.rosestone.me.uk/Degen/VLF.txtHaving dug out my DE-1103, I tried it on 500kHz. Last night around 00z I could hear GI4DPE beaconing, in the clear at ~R3-4 in Worcestershire, both on the ferrite or whip, and also on the matching Tecsun AN-200 MW loop anteanna, which tunes down to ~510kHz unmodified.Sensitivity is much lower at 136 on the ferrite, with DCF39 only R4 in daytime. |
