LF,

My loading coil gave out at 12.05Z

The hot melt glue used to hold the fine wires in place had become disbonded with the constant low temperatures.
Some windings had shifted and must have shorted through to other turns as the coil is now resonant about 1 kHz higher.

I've removed the loading coil to the garage and will unwind some of the turns and then rewind, this time varnishing them in place.

Andy's screen shot looks promising and with a longer QRSS we may be in with a chance.

Thanks for all your patience; I am aware that progress is painfully slow.

Unfortunately taking that screen grab stopped teh SDR-IQ and I didn't notice for a while.  Anyway, after eventually restarting there is not even the faintest indication of a line at the appropriate spot, which does suggest a possibility your QRSS 3600 signal  was detected.

Look forward to your next transmission - with slower dot period please.

At what time  did you turn off?

Take a look at http://www.g4jnt.com/DownLoad/XIZ_1.jpg  where there is just the faintest line at the right frequency - looking in a bandwidth of 0.05Hz.

(The other point labelled is wher ei inject a frequency 10Hz higher at the start to check frequency cal)

If it is genuine, and not just a spuron, then QRSS 60 would probably show results.

Its still running to see if that just-possible line has now clearly gone.

Thanks for your efforts chaps.

I had definite QRSS-3 confirmation from Dennis M0JXM at 1.5 km but Pete M0FMT at 11 km
had no copy.

I have developed an intermittent short-circuit problem with the loading coil and will QRT now.

I'll notify via the reflector when transmitting again.

Dear Chris, LF Group,

The VLF RX has been running since 1130 - Nothing seen yet.
