Hi Joe,
My QRSS120 setup didn't match well your transmission, QRSS60/90 would have
been more appropriate. Anyway, my new 1.2 meter "tuned active whip" antenna
seems to perform quite well (still a prototype) It needs 10 dB more gain to
compete with the usual 2x2 meter loop as the noise floor is a bit too low.
The "tuning system" uses an old 135 kHz IF transformer with 2 coupled LC
resonators. The whip is directly connected to the first LC, and the FET
amplifier to the second one. Not a killer but it works !
