Are you still running that amazing glass tube / litz loading coil?
No, sadly it became damaged due to surface arcing that lead to a broken glass body. There was a partial discharge guard ring on the top of the coil, which lost its contact to the upper turn of the coil. I still have the litz laying arround here but i would need to organise a new tube for winding. The litz seemed to perform a bit worse in the end. But with a larger coil diameter, the Q could be rised and also the L. Then, i could cut the first and last 2 meters of the wire to reach the same L again, then with even lower losses. But power dissipation is another factor that must be considered. You know i'm not the one who avoids effort, so you see it is all a question of priorities. In the end of 2013 there was not so much interest in LF and so i tended to focus on MF and then VLF...
Let's see what happens in the next time. I'm still a bit unconvinced (by myselfe) to put much effort into LF.  Thus i'm running that small lossy coil now, out of simple 0.75mm^2 loudspeaker cable onto a 20 cm diameter PVC tube... But it seems to be fine for some testing :-)
