Oh dear ..... well the only time i can think that has happened is with
the digital voice system that became D-Star .. now that is very dogey and
controlled from you know where .. and don't upset the local repeater
group ..or you will be banned world wide from the system .. nice ..
pactor that's licensed , my pk232 has a serial number , Georges sv6agp ?
packet engine , yes a lot of hams gave an input , but the working
version is free along with other useful thing's .... but lot of
people use software that's secret with nc access to the source code ...Im
using it now .. win-xp pro and all the other variations ...remember
when win-95 first came out .. was not long before some one caught
it doing ET-Phone home .. not surprised there is a little paranoia
about !
I you look at the comments posted on other groups about this .. you
will see things got a little out of hand .....
G3PLX took a lot of flack when he introduced psk31 .. and that was
from the then gpo , as 'it' was a secret code system etc .. this time
it looks like the roles are reversed !

Those using it are at RISK.
exactly my thoughts. if everyone rejected this mode on grounds that this
is illegal, the author would be forced to either publish the specs, or to
loose testing of his software by hams.
actually maybe this is the authors plot - let hams test the software for a
while, and then sell it to some commercial customer (probably not
military, but mine communications perhaps?)
