Hm, i remember from my LF days that people tend to say i have "no ears" when i didn't copy them. They copied me very good and so their easy conclusion was that obviously i do not receive well. Actually the discrepancy between the SNR had another reason.
Maybe this is the same phenomenon here?
Also Luis received LA2XPA last night, as he say.
Timestamp Call MHz SNR Drift Grid Pwr Reporter RGrid km az
 2017-03-21 21:56   LA2XPA   0.475783   -26   0   JP33wi   0.2   EA5DOM-1   IM98xn   2807   195

But i see it was just a single decode.
So maybe the condx were changing? I don't know. Just a thought.

Maybe it is helpful to run some WSPR Rik, so you can see how the levels behave during the evening, and which SNR can be expected. Then you will find the best time to try...

Good luck.

PS: I missing MF but have to focus on VLF/ULF for some more time. Can't interrupt the current ongoing carrier transmission..

Hello Luis,

maybe your big building is good for transmitting but not so good for receiving due to all the local noise. Setting up a remote RX at a quiet location could do miracles.

In JT9-1 mode signals can be copied down to -26dB and you peaked +1dB, so these was a margin up to 27dB (500 x power !!!).

Hi Rik

Pity ! Could not receive anybody here. And conditions were not bad at all. I was spotting LA2XPA in WPSR at that time

I have been monitoring JT9 for some time now and can recall receiving you and other stations
Unfortunately Eric, ON5TA, got a problem in his PA and is QRP now

Anyway the downconverter is online and if there is any other chance we can try QSO
